Ghost of Tsushima’s The Legend of Tadayori Mythic Tale is either the second or third you’ll encounter, and it will net you a powerful armor set for your journey. In this walkthrough, we’ll show you how to acquire Tadayori’s Armor.
Step 1. Finding the musician
At the start of every Mythic Tale, you’ll need to find a musician in the world — rumors from townspeople, especially from the Golden Temple, can help mark the musician on the map. For The Legend of Tadayori Mythic Tale, go just south of the Rustling Bend, along the river in the south west of Izuhara.
Talk to the musician there, and listen to his tale.
Step 2. Search for violet flowers
When you regain control of Jin, you’ll have a new objective 700 meters away. Jump on your house and ride with the wind. You’ll come across a large search location. Your new objective is to search for violet flowers.
Move east into the investigation area, east of Kii’s Pond. You’ll eventually find a hilly area with a small mountain sticking out of it. It’s surrounded by violet flowers.
Once you get on the small mountain, your objective will change to “follow the flowers to the Violet Crown.” Climb the spiral mountain until you reach the top. Examine the incense, and the container. You’ll get a painted map for your trouble.
Step 3. Find the location shown on the map.
Giving you a non-detailed map and asking you to find a new location may seem daunting, but this part of the quest is easy. Turn around 180 degrees from the container and look forward. Straight ahead, you’ll see a mountain with some orange trees. That’s your destination. Jump off your current mountain, get on your horse, and start to ride in the direction you were looking. You’ll start to see purple flowers as you get closer.
Ride forward into the fog. Jin will say that he can’t climb the mountain, so you need another way in.
Look for a small lantern sitting next to the cliff. To the left of the lantern is a hole in the rock, which you can crawl under.
Step 4. Enter Tadayori’s Rest
Now that you’re inside the cliff, follow the path and climb. You’ll come across some dead Mongols. Pass them, and squeeze your way into the open shrine. Walk forward and you’ll find a cemetery. Examine the headstones and you’ll find more incense. Once you examine them all, turn around and you’ll run into Kaede.
Kaeda duel boss fight
Kaeda is here to protect Tadayori’s Rest, and she doesn’t believe you are who you say you are. This is a standard duel, so …
- Swap to any armor with damage, damage reduction, or increased health.
- Watch out for her red swings, and parry her attacks.
- If you fail your duel with Kaede multiple times, you’ll revive with more Resolve than before when you respawn. If you’re struggling in your duel against her, don’t be afraid to die a few times and strengthen your Resolve.
Before you kill Kaeda, she will stop the duel and tell you she believes you. She’ll also tell you where to find Tadayori’s Armor: Azamo Bay.
Step 5. Free the musician, defend the musician
After your duel, you have quite a journey. Fast travel to the nearest point you’ve unlocked near Azamo Bay. Jump on your horse and ride the rest of the way down. Follow the wind until you find more violet flowers. When you reach the objective, you’ll find yourself on a small hill, with Mongols around you. Take them out.
When you’re done, speak to the musician. Pick up Tadayori’s armor and get ready for a fight.
Mongols will try and retake the hill. The game clearly wants you to use your new bow-themed armor to take out these enemies, but you can use your sword if you prefer. When you’ve killed several waves of Mongols, you’ll finish the quest.
What does Tadayori’s Armor do?
Tadayori’s Armor is all about bows. Its first perk increases nocking reload speed, while its second perk increases Concentration time (an ability that allows you to slow down time while you aim). The final perk causes headshots to restore Concentration, letting you use the ability longer and more frequently.
